Dear forum members,

Recently I withdrew my application for an EEA Permit as they were taking too long and had not even looked at my papers, as I was told by Embassy staff.

After contacting Worldbridge to ask what happened, I was told that the application was taking to long because checks were being made on my immigration history and also that I had a criminal record.

I already stated on my application form about my immigration history, which is not dreadful but I have never had a criminal record in my life in any country.

Are they being stupid and lazy? And is it better in such situations to simply appear at the UK borders and talk to real immigration officers rather than corrupt lazy employees in different countries?

Please advise on how best to proceed.

I would have said, it is better to let the process conclude rather than appearing at the border if you manage to do so.

Do you have any written confirmation regarding what you posted?

*WorldBridge Service has contacted the visa section on your behalf and received the response that your application was under consideration when you choose to withdraw it. Every application is subject to biometric checks and this office was awaiting further information on your biometric results before a decision could be made. You have an adverse immigration history and criminal record in a different identity and therefore further checks on both identities is required. Any future application will also be subject to further checks and a decision will only be made when all checks have been completed.*


Why are you sugessting I do not appear at UK borders if I am able to do this legally?

If there are issues with your application that need to be resolved first, then perhaps it would have been better to have waited for a decision on the family permit. The same issues are likely to follow you whether you apply again at the border, at an embassy or within the UK.

Having read your subsequent posts, I believe that they were actively looking at your application. In fairness, I don't know how long you'd waited, but perhaps a little more time would have resolved matters for you.
