Hi everyone! I need some help here. I applied for RC as married partner of EU citizen 6month and 8 days ago. Yesterday my solicitor contact UKBA and they told him we need to wait more. And that what my solicitor advise me as well. Just to wait no matter how long. Is that normal? I dont even have COA, as it been lost in the post and the caseworker for God knows which reason doesnt want to issue another one. Is anyone can advise me on what should i do next ? Any advice will be appreciated.

. firstly relax I applied like 5 years ago I send it to Liverpool and it came from Croydon weird and it came exactly after 6 month and a week but since the law has change they might issue only 2 years and half but make sure that your partner works and gets permanent residency however they might give 5 years which will be helpful to u but the lawyer knows they have to apply within 6 months but he doesn't want to bother them and take the home office to court for breaking eu rules the home office is very weird now becos they have to meet targets and they find easier to refuse rather than issue rc or pr I have applied for pr and it has already been 5 months and my partner has both British passport and European passport pluss I got 2 kids who are British born so don't worry just be patient Don't Bother them but make sure they got ur documents .

Then let me be the first: When I applied for a RC way back on 31 January 2008 I didn't receive it till 1 October 2008. The RC was dated 17 September so a total waiting time of 7.5 months.

Of course things have improved slightly since then.

I applied for RC on mid November 2008 and I received my COA on mid December 2008(6 months work allowed which I was so excited at that time)
but I received my RC on beginning of July :) so 7 months, hopefully you get it soon, good luck.

hi! Im still waiting for decision on my application made almost 7 month ago. everyone here tells that is take no more than 6 month ,but my solicitor keep tellin me that it can take much longer, becouse i was an illigal immigrant before and HO came to our wedding(but left,as they didnt have any doubts) does anyone know if i have to change solicitor and complain to mp etc or whatever says my solicitor does make sense( becouse it doesnt to me) ? Does anyone was in similar situation or have knowledge of HOW LONG more i have to wait. It wasnt difficult to wait b4 6month ,but now everyday is miserable. we keep calling them everyday , but nothing every day same reply, you have to wait!

Am in the same spot like u 😁😁!
I've wrote to them like 10 letters now and answer.
I ring them every two day but get the same answer that I have to wait
Because UKBA hasn't made a decision on my application.
Yet it's gonna be 8 months tomorrow.
My timelines is as follows:

EEA2 application sent: 31/05/2012
EEA2 Application received : 31/05/2012
COA: 28/08/2012 (Dated 18/08/2012)
RC: ..?????

I would recommend to anyone who has waited more than six months to get in touch with their local MP. I contacted my local MP when the UKBA wouldn't respond to my requests to have my passports returned.

This kind of escalation process will not only help you in having a decision made on your case, but will also draw attention to the fact that the UKBA are not complying with the 6 month 'rule'.

My husband was an overstayed too, but when he applied for his EEA2 in 2007 he received his RC in 5.5 months. So I don't think that being an overstayer should matter - but who knows when one has to deal with the incompetence and bureaucracy of the the UKBA.
