Applied for an EEA-FP on the 17th of August, no answer yet!

Hello and good morning all.
We have applied for an EEA-FP in August. Up until now we haven't received any news or information. When we call the ambassy in Rabat, they can't or don't want to give us any info or update. When I call the UKBA I keep on getting a tape message. My husband and I have been married sins 2004 and we have a 5year old daughter together.
I am a full time hard working tax paying European citizen in the UK (originally from Holland). Have been in the UK and working ever sins May '12.
This application shouldn't take this long, right?
Does anybody have any tips for me? My family and I are starting to really suffer the consequences of this long waiting an not knowing anything.
Please help us out, with anything.
Many thanks,
A hopeless mum.

An EEA FP application has to be processed via an "accelerated procedure" as it is stated in Directive 2004/38. What that exactly means in practice is unclear, but I would assume that it should at least be faster than a normal visitor visa.
Two weeks I would already consider too long, let alone five months!
High time to submit a formal complaint to UKBA (see
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/about ... complaint/), and may be also contact Solvit UK (see
http://ec.europa.eu/solvit/site/centres ... /index.htm for contact details)
To make your complaint more specific, have a look at the ECI first (
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... dlaw/ecis/)
If you look up the processing times for Rabat on
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... ing-times/, it seems that the longest time taken for an EEA FP was 10 working days, and five out of six applications took five days or less.

Hi fysicus,
Thank you ever so much for your reply. I'll have a look on the site's you've advised me. I am starting to loos my mind! It's inhuman and unacceptable all the time they're taking.
But at least I have something to start with.
Many thanks ones more!
Please keep the tips coming this way.
Thank you!

Write them a letter and ask what's happening.

Hi eu,
Am composing a good letter right this moment.
Just don't really know what to exactly put in it.
Couldn't really find any example letter online.
So if anyone has any guidelines, please do let me know.
I'm not really good in these things, especialty in English .
Thank you all.

Complain loudly and strongly. The visa should have been issued within a few days. And keep us informed!

Complain to the visa section of the consulate - see details in
Complaints in Morocco. Also complain to UKBA in the UK -
Making a complaint to the UK Border Agency.
