I just moved to another place, and the landlady says that mail have been lost recently (including two bank cards that have been lost and one Special delivery envelope been delivered to a neighbor  ). I will have to send my EEA ROR application soon, but the thought of loosing my papers (especially my passport) makes me feel very uncomfortable. I am wondering, what if use my friends address as the return address? Is it OK? Would the HO object it?

If you have insecure mail delivery system then you can certainly use any other secured address as a correspondence address.
