EEA2 documents include current visa (Tier1 PSW RC) or not?

Hi there,
does anyone have the same situation as I do: I'm now holding a Tier1 PSW visa which is a Residence Card (not a sticker/endorsement on my passport). Before it expires, I will apply for the EEA2. Do I need to submit my RC card with my passport to verify my current visa status? (my last UK visa on my PASSPORT is already expired).

If I need to enclose my current RC card with my EEA application, can I ask it back together with my passport?

Any help will be much appreciated!

Usually the existing visa remain valid until its expiry even upon getting EEA2. However, few people in this forum not received back their biometrics card once they got their EEA2 RC.

Thank you, my concern is whether or not to send my PSW RC card together with my passport for EEA2 application?

And if I want my passport back after receiving COA, can I ask my RC card back at the same time as well?

Sorry for the confusion.

As a precaution better to send biometrics card too with passport. You can certainly be able to request back your passport and logically if your old visa is still valid then they must return it too with passport but in this forum few people not received it back.
