I need your help and advising in bringing my daughter to the UK.

Am married to an EEA National for 4years now and we have a son who's 2years old. I have a daughter back home in Africa I had for another man and she will be 10years July 1st. I want to apply for a EEA family permit for her to come to UK. I just opened up about her to my husband last year and he advice we should bring her to join us here in UK. Now am thinking what documents I need to put I together for her application. I really don't know where to start coz am yet to get my indefinite leave to remain. I work for the NHS and my partner is a chef at Thomas Cuttbit. Please can we apply for her and what documents should I send to my sister back in African who will be helping to put the application in for her. Your advice will be really helpful.

It is not difficult to have an EEA FP if you get all documents right. You must provide proof of relationship with the sponsor( Your marriage certificate), dependency ( remittances to the child/legal Guardian, The child's birth Certificate, TB test results and a letter of consent/ Affidavit from your ex husband giving his consent to your EEA husband and yourself for child to come and join you.

We did this for my 4 step children in February and they got their visas in three days. My husband only had his RC in January.

Sometimes Entry Clearance officer get these types of application mixed up either deliberately or inadvertently, however there is no need for dependency in these types of situation.

Evidence of Sole Responsibility or permission from the other parent may be required.

To my understanding DEPENDENCY and SOLE RESPONSIBILITY is the same therefore such evidence is vital.

I don't agree with that at all.

Sole Responsibility is a term used, in the context of a child, to prevent a child from being taken from a parent who provides for him or her, to a different country, or to a parent who does not have sole responsibility for the child at all.

Dependency is an EU law term, which can apply in the context of Extended family member or Dependent Relatives in the Ascending or descending line (Over 21) of an EEA national .

So i don't believe they are the same, and i apologise if you think in inadvertently gave you the idea that they are.
