Hi

Now that a permenant card needs to be obtained prior to application for British naturalisation, does anyone know how long it takes for the application for a permenant card to be processed? I am a bit nervious sending out my passport without any idea of when it would be returned by.

Also does anyone know of a Nationality Checking Service for permenant card applications, similar to what there is for British naturalisation applications?

Thanks in advance

Currently, official data gives PR application processing time as 6 months. There is no NCS option available for PR.

This thread shows member's processing times: http://www.immigrationboards.com/eea-ro ... 83537.html
It takes significantly longer for non-EEA nationals as they need to submit their Biometrics to obtain a PR card. Some EEA processing times were as short as three weeks, although processing times are likely to increase for both groups as the caseworkers' work load will increase now that everyone needs a PR document to apply for citizenship.

Just ask for your documents back if you need your passport back straight away.
