Processing Times for EEA App

Hi,

While we have been advised that that application would take up to 6 months, we are anxious for various reasons to get our Passports back as soon as we can.

I would be very interested to understand previous applicants' experiences for processing times, and particularly, if you have exercised your right to request the documentation back prior to the entire application been issued?

I am fearful that if we request the documentation back it will negatively impact our application and declare it void?

Many thanks for sharing your experiences.

Which EEA application have you made? It seems the current timeline for EEA(PR) application for non-EEA citizens is right up near the 6 month target. EEA(PR) for EEA citizens is a relatively new thing (rules only changed in November) and at least one member has completed theirs in 7 weeks.

You can request your documents back from the Home Office no problem, there is actually an online form for this and it asks whether you would like to withdraw your application, obviously say NO.

If you are going to request your documents back I suggest leaving at least 10 working days from the date they received your application before you do it
