5th wedding anniversary - if sponsor has been exercising treaty rights & any absences (yours/hers) from UK have been within limits.

Did that solicitor explain his reasoning?

My reasoning is you have been the dependent family member of your EEA sponsor/spouse (a qualified person) since the day you tied the knot.

it was just a quick call,i told him i married in may 2011 and may 2016 will be my five years with the eea national.
and my RC was issued in sep 2011.
i asked him when should i apply for PR he said 28 days before your RC expires.

Pointless commenting on the views of some of these so called lawyers, who muddle up EU and national immigration.

I believe the views of the moderator is the most accurate than the one you were given by the television solicitor.

Nothing to do with coming Valentine's day but EU regulations are clearly on the side of the wedding anniversary.

Apply now, why wait ? Unless you have urgent travel plans in the next six months. Its not the date of issue or expiry on the residence card that matters, its the date when your 'countdown' to PR based on your status as the family member of a EEA citizen exercising treaty rights in the UK started.

Don't expect much communication back and forth from HO. Its just a waiting game now.

You can track other members' experiences in the PR timeline thread to see how they're getting on.

It probably will take 6 months, and yes you can ask for your passports/etc back.

The application isn't processed until biometrics are submitted, and these are taking the full 6 month processing time at the moment. Just be patient.

Good news indeed and despite Brexit HO surpassed themselves delivering around 6 months mark.
You can relax now.
