Do you mean the BC application fee and the passport application? If so ,yes you do. Fees are increasing on the 6th April.

How many people are applying and what are their ages? Where were they born and have they all got PR?

Total fees are usually as follows:

Naturalisation fee: around £1000 at the moment, to go up in April to approx. £1200 I believe
+ Document Certifying Permanent Residence cost: £65
+ LIUK Test fee: £50
+ potentially fees for an English language test should you not be able to satisfy the language requirements via another method (e.g. UK degree)

Once you have been naturalised you can then apply for a UK passport which currently costs £72.50 for adults.

Registration is for children, as an adult you pay the naturalisation fee.

An adult naturalises
A child under 18 registers.

If two adults are applying for British citizenship there will be two separate naturalisation application fees + the fee for the passport application.

At the moment one. Still unsure if the child born in uk would become automaticly british citizen, if one of the parents become BC. And would be around £750 for the child?

Was the child born before of after one of the parents acquired PR? If after they are automatically British, if before they will need to be registered for £700+ (i.e. the child doesn't automatically become British if one of the parents naturalises (like is the case in France for example) and needs to be separately registered).

Thanks for the information. We the parents are both EEA citizen. One child is born abroad and lives in this country for nearly 10 years and is under 18. Other child is born in UK before one parent got PR and is 7 years old. I thought that this child would automaticly get the right of becoming BC if one of the parents becomes BC.

This child can register as a British citizen at discretion if both the parents become British citizens or if one parent becomes a British citizen and the other has PR.

This child has an entitlement to be registered (i.e. it can not be refused) when either one of the parents has PR.

You will need to pay for the registration of both children.

So,if all of you are applying for citizenship, there will need to be two naturalisation applications and fees and two registration applications and fees. Finally, when all of you are British citizens, there will be four passport fees.

Welcome to the costs that non-EEA migrants have to bear all the time.
