requirement of being self employed in Malta

Does anyone can share some information about what is required to be self employed as EU citizen in Malta ? Such as if there is any minimum fund required to be saved in order to open a commercial account as an EU citizen?
Because I am thinking with self employed we can start to apply RC immediately, so that can gain us a longer time of looking for vacancies(more than 3 months) in Malta, dunno if it is right....appreciate if someone can share their experience, thank you.
Maybe we will like Malta and stay to live as permanent, just dunno yet, but it is good to always prepare more than not being enough.
