PR: jobseeker status & evidence after qualifying period?

Hello,

Quick version: If I apply using a qualifying period as an employee of 2004 to 2010, do I also need to send any evidence for the period after that? For example to prove I have remained a resident in the UK, or a list of holidays abroad.

Longer version:

I am a Spanish national that has been living continuously in the UK since March 1999.

I want to apply for permanent residency with a qualifying period of:
- April 2004 February 2009: Permanent employee.
- February 2009 to June 2009: Looking for work (with contributions-based JSA)
- June 2009 to August 2010. Permanent employee.

I have been self-employed (consultant through my own limited company) since August 2010. I have read so many posts about the problems with proving self-employment that it seems easier to apply based on my time as a permanent employee. I was also an employee continuously from March 1999 to April 2004 but my records for that period are poorer and the companies I worked for gone bankrupt.

Thanks,

Dan

Are the 4.5 months registered with JobCentrePlus likely to be a problem?

Thanks,

Dan

Not if you have good documentary supporting evidence of the jobseeker status.

If an A8 national were you registered for WRS?

Yes, proof of residency and also that any absences from UK were within prescribed limits will be required.
This helps establish that PR, if acquired, has not been subsequently lost.

First apologies for the two posts, I thought I was helping anyone doing searches by separating the two distinct subjects!

Also, thanks for the replies. For evidence of looking for work, in my field (software developer), everything is done by email, so I don't have any letters. And I doubt they'd accept email printouts. I do have the booklets from JobcentrePlus where you write down what you've done to find a job since the last meeting.

With regards to holidays abroad, I have gone through all my emails and written down a list of dates and destinations but how do I prove it? Or is it enough to just write it down? What if I forget the odd trip here or there? I've never been away more that the typical 5 weeks holidays per year you get with most jobs.

Many thanks,

Dan
