Hi,
my husband and I are living since 7 years in the UK. My husband is employed since 8 years and I'm self employed since 8 years. We send my husbands application for a permanent residence card last week and I don't expect any problems because he is with the same employer since 8 years.

But I'm not sure which route I should go. I'm self employed (in a home office) and I can provide self assesments, class 2 invoices and regular invoices but I never had an business account because I just have 2 main clients and not many expenses. Since we moved here and the money always went into a privat german bank account and then from there to the UK (in the big part a small amount stayed in the German account). So the question is will the be enough and should I also translate the german bank statements ? I'm concerned that they will not accept this as enough evidence that I'm self employed. Because of this I though if it may be possible to apply as a close family member once my husband has his residence card but this will be a few more months and I don't want to wait that long.

UK also applies its somewhat controversial PET/MET tests to determine if the work is genuine and effective.

Sponsored by spouse may be best bet.

what is the PET/MET tests, it seems there is not much on the internet. It seems related to the income (Minimum Earnings Threshold). My self assesment and invoices will show that I earned as much as the average UK income so should this help my case?

thanks a lot. So I also got some letters from my 2 clients who confirmed that I work for them. This may also help . But even in the worst case that it fails could I still apply again afterwards (yes competly new application with new fee etc. ) with my husband as sponsor or is this it? I could not find an answer to this.

Yes, you can always reapply with new evidence or on a new basis (as long as UK is still in EU).
