PR applications for EA national and non-EEA partner?

Hi,

After researching the boards in hope of finding some help with my query, I am now posting my questions. Hopefully, this is the right place to ask this question.

The Situation:

I am a Dutch national living in the UK since 2001 and have never applied for the PR. My wife, a non-EEA national, joined me in the UK in 2010 and have been granted the Residence Document for five years in 2011. That document is to expire in August 2016 and we want to apply for PR for her. At the same time, I would like to apply for the PR for myself as well.

The Problem:

Trouble is that I cannot find any option on the new 80-plus page form which I can use to make the joint application. I called a law firm to seek their advice and the gentleman on the phone advised that I cannot make both applications on the same form. It didn't sound to be a convincing answer.

The Ideal Outcome:

Ideally, I want to be able to apply for PR for myself and my wife together on the same form. Is it possible please?

Yes, you can include a family member on the same form.

However it is likely you acquired PR years ago, perhaps as early as 2006. It may be easier to use two forms as wife's qualifying period (with you as her sponsor) only started when you married.
Have a go at filling the form - see how it shapes up.

Don't forget rock-solid documentary supporting evidence will be required from both of you.
