Dear All,

Apologies if its answered already elsewhere.

1. How much time it takes to get initial Entry clearance visa for non-EEA family members of EU citizens in:
a) Switzerland
b) the Netherlands

2. Does Switzerland issue a Residence Card - called Family member of EU citizen similar to rest of EU countries ?
- Is it acceptable for travel & relocation to other EU countries (including Ireland)

3. Does Ireland accepts Family of EU citizen card issued by Schegen block as valid entry clearance?

4. Does Ireland accept Swiss Residence permit (refer Q. 2) as as valid entry clearance?

Please provide some idea & expert thoughts.
Thanks a lot

Be aware that Switzerland had voted in February 2014 to limit immigration, thus breaching its bilateral treaties with the EU. The Swiss government must implement the referendum results by February 2017 (three years from the results) and so, it is likely that if the EU insists on freedom of movement for trade, that Switzerland will not be a part of the freedom of movement with the EU by February 2017. Factor that timeframe into any plans for Switzerland.

I recommend keeping an eye on Swissinfo and the Englishforum Switzerland for further developments. If you get any updates on the other forums, please keep us posted here.

Thanks a lot for reminding about swiss-info site.

Kindly try to answer my other queries around transportability of Swiss Residence permit into EU (non-Schegen area)

And also separate query on the Netherlands & general timescales for Entry clearance visa applications.

Many thanks

Also does anybody know - what is the below requirement:

"Evidence, for example a declaration issued by a competent authority, showing you received material support from your EU/EEA or Swiss family member to provide for you in your basic needs in your country of origin or country of former residence in light of your financial and personal situation."

?

Depends where it came from - link?

Sounds like need for proof of dependency in context of certain family dependents.

Memberstates generally recognise Article 10/20 cards not domestic issued ones.

If you are hardcore you could turn up at border with marriage cert and copy of Directive;
(assuming you can get to border).

As to timelines, stand by for relevant locals to respond.
