Hi,
Could somebody advise me when I can apply for PR card.
I am in UK since May 2011. I came on student visa and was leaving with my future suppose since I came. We got married a year later May 2012. Since when does the continuous 5 year period start? I read on the forum that it is since marriage date, but if we can proof that I was leaving with him since 2011, won't that year count as well. Could be I considered as an extended family member at that time?

Thanks

Probably I rushed a bit with the question, just found the answer from previous topics. The continuous period starts from the marriage registration date.
Thanks

What nationality/ies do you hold? What nationality/ies does your current spouse hold?

If you are a non-EEA national, then the five years start from date of marriage.

If you were an a couple in a relationship akin to marriage, those years would have counted if you had applied as an EFM at that time and held a Residence Card (RC). Then the clock would have started from the date of your Residence Card.

But if you don't have an RC issued to you as an EFM, those years won't count.

Yes thank you for your reply, I am non EEA and only have RC as a FM, so the period counts from the date of marriage.
Thanks

Assuming sponsor was/is a qualified person (exercising treaty rights) from day of marriage.
