Hi all,

I am non-EEA on a Tier 2 visa, my partner is EEA, we both live and work in the UK since the past 4 years. I am planning to leave employment in 2017 and will have to switch my visa status.

I thought I would have to apply for EEA family permit but the gov.uk website says "You must be outside the UK to apply." The "family of a settled person" visa on the other hand appears not to be applicable to EEA partners. I am not sure therefore the kind of family visa I need to apply to if I am already in the UK, non-EEA, on a tier 2 visa, and my partner is EEA. Could anyone please provide advice?

all the best,
daniel

You don't need a visa on EU route.
You just need EEA spouse/sponsor to be a qualified (or settled) person.
If unmarried apply for an EFM RC.

Are you married to the EU partner or unmarried partners?

What do you mean by a "qualified" person?

I don't mean anything - its a EU Directive term.
