ROR received but no cover letter from Home Office

Hi All,

I was hoping someone can help me on this.

I received all my documents back from the HO and the same day I receive the RC delivered by DX.

Unfortunately HO only send a letter telling me that I will receive the RC in 10 days time. There was nothing that indicated my rights as a former family member of EU national.

Can someone please let me know how I can get it and also I there is any difference in my rights in UK?

Secondly, on the RC, it states that I am a family member of an EU member. Is that normal?

Please advise

Many thanks

Yes, its standard EU wording.

This should help you get a handle on ROR:

Thanks noajthan.

In case I'm travelling, shouldn't I receive an official letter from Home Office to specify that I have retained my right as a former spouse of a EU national?

Thanks

As far as I know its standard wording regardless of fact you are a free agent.
There's nothing in EEA Regulations about special letters and special wordings.

Hi Jay,

My documents were sent via 2nd class signed for. The BRP was send via DX. You might receive the card by Monday. If not then call DX, provide them with your post code and name. and they will tell you when it will be delivered.

When you received your documents back from the Home Office, did you receive a cover letter which states that you have retained your right? I only receive a letter saying I will receive the BRP.

Please let me know.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply Jay. At least now I know I am not the only one. I was thinking I will have to receive something to prove that I have retained my right when traveling for example. I guess I will have to have the divorce certificate with me anytime I'm traveling in order not to be asked too many questions and time wasting.

Ho ama26

No need to keep divorce critificate with you all the time .
When they scan your BRP it's automatically come that you got ROR

Have you received your card now Jay?

I was reading on this forum that there is a specific eea regulation that states that the Home Office has to issue a Resident Card stating “Residence card of a family member who has retained the right of residence”. I'm planning to write to the Home Office to provide me with further information on this.

Schengen visa for ROR resident card holder

Hi all,

I am thinking about going to a Schengen country early next year. I have retained my right and I have just been issued with a resident card. It is stated on the card that I am a family member of an eea national.

I was wondering if this can cause a problem when I apply for the visa? It is stated that all family members of eea national should provide a proof. Technically I am no more a family member, however the card that was issued to me stated that I am a family member of eea.

Can someone please advise?

Thanks

As discussed its standard wording, mandated by EU law.

You won't be the first divorced person applying for a Schengen visa.
As long as you are exercising treaty rights in own right your situation and status should be clearly understandable by the concerned, highly-trained and experienced officials.
