Hello there,

I need your help regarding my status in the future. I have got EEA FM RC 5 years last month and me my wife living in London for two years. My wife is EU national and she is working full time. My question is technical but i think you guys might be expert in this area.

I am just worried about upcoming Brexit immigration affects or changes in the future about EU national and their family members in the UK. I know it's unclear, we can't say nothing and we don't know about Brexit forecast but i just need you experts advise and views about this issue.

1: Which application would i need to apply for PR in the future as the UK will not be part of EU in the next 5 years?

2: What if my wife apply for PR next year (She been living in London since 2013 and working full time) but her PR status will affect or breach my immigration status in the UK?

3: What do you guys think if in case the UK government give the EU nationals right of resident in Brexit negotiations, Will the government may give the same rights to their family members inside the country who have got RC?

4: Please share your views based on your experience regarding my queries on above issues. I will not mind if any one of you advise me individually. As i am just very worried and feel insecure about my future in the UK.

Thank you

You have answered the questions yourself!
Nobody can forecast let alone advise on the future requirements. UK is still in the EU for 2+ years until Day X - so my personal advice is to get all your paperwork in order, apply for PR if you are qualified, better even apply for Citizenship if you qualify, then you are in a better situation after Day X than if you have not done anything.

Hello Mate,

Think Logically, you are awarded EEA RC last month and it happened after brexit?

Secondly by the time UK is completely out of EU it will be in 2019? as it will take almost 2 years to complete the process of leaving EU

by that time your lady will have PR anyway? as you mentioned she started working in 2013 so she is due for PR next year then

Happy days... dont worry sit tight we aint going no where pal

Thank for your reply dear. My concerns is that the family members of EU national can only apply for PR if only they complete 5 years in the UK. My PR clock will be completed in 2022 where UK won't longer be part of the EU. If my wife apply for PR then my RC status will be breached from the date my wife get PR??
