Switch from dependent EU to qualified person

A european child who has been in UK for 2 years dependent on her father who has PR. If child needs to switch to qualified person as father no longer gonna be able to be her sponsor.Will her 5 years clock to PR be reset? or Is it ok be a mixture of status?
