Hi, I'd be most grateful if anyone can help with a query regarding applying from EEA2 to PR for unmarried partners.

I've been in the UK for almost 11 years, 6 with student visa, last 5 with EEA2 (with EEA partner since 2003 but in the UK since 2006). Can the '5 years of continued residency' (the qualifying period) be any 5 years of my time in the UK, or they must be the 5 years SINCE the EEA2 Card was issued (2012-2017)? EEA member already obtained his permanent residence.

And this would count from the date your RC was issued. This would also be due to you being an unmarried partner with no automatic rights as a married non-EU spouse would have.

Thanks for the quick reply. And during those 5 years since the EE2 card was issued, how many years of co-habitation are necessary? At least 2? Or as unmarried you'd only qualify for PR only if living together for the whole 5 year period?
