Hi,

I am an EU expat currently living and working in the UK along with my partner. I am doing paperworks for EEA QP and I came a across a question: what is the difference between doing a one application for both me and my partner and doing two separate ones?
I see that the price is 'per person', in fact I find I have to pay 130£. The situation is:
- Both I and my partner have a permanent job
- We live together and bills can show it (council tax for instance or rent agreement)
- We are partnered but not yet into civil partnership/marriage

Might two different application cause issues in getting civil partnership later? I see that the application request me to provide details like where I met my partner, when, how many long-term relationship I had in past, who my partners were, etc... I already answered... but just curious to see if there is some true difference or not.
Basically, with a single application for two person, I just need to provide details only for my job as the main applicant and not my partner's one.

Living together before coming to the UK, around 1 year.
My partner immigration status is like my status. European passport expat relocated in UK (we arrived together).

What about if we make two applications and then we get a civil partnership or married? As far as I know the _unmarried partnership_ status does not have a real legal value. Am I right?

If you have valid residence cards and can prove a durable relationship, it would seem from the EEA Regulations 7(3) and 8(5), that it's as good as being married as far as the EEA Regulations are concerned. I don't know if it has worked that way in practice - EEA nationals have tended not to apply for residence certificates.

Well we want to get into a civil union later this year. However, the intention does not count in this case. They specifically ask if you together for more than two years. I guess this is the their perception of stable partnership.
ANyway, I can make two applications, no problem. But, if do this, my question change to: what about if you have a job that is not totally sufficient for living? From the financial standpoint, my partner works in a fast food and earn 7.60 £/h with a zero hour contract (even if normally he does 38 hours/week). Moreover, what happer if you submit the application today and you change your job after three months? With the application I have to submit the proof I am working (letter from the employer and last two payslips). They might be able to find my new job in the system, as they get information for taxes, but not sure.
