Reference number / biometrics timeline 2017

Hello,

my husband (American) sent his application for residence permit (EEA family member) on June 28, and the payment was taken from his credit card July 1.

He has now accepted a job offer and his new employer needs a reference number to check his status through ECS, Employer Checking Service, since his (valid) EEA family permit is inside his passport.

We have phoned the home office and apparently there is no reference number until biometrics letter is sent out.

Has anyone gone through this recently (post article 50) and can provide a timeline for how long after payment taken the biometrics invitation will be sent out? Or has any other good info...

Thanks so much!

Look at my signature, we are still waiting for the Biometrics, but we have a case number and when checking the status, we get awaiting a decision

I sent in my EEA(PR) application on 25 May. I paid by postal order so I don't have a "payment taken" date. I received the biometrics letter on 12 July (dated 11 July). On the same day (12 July) I also received an email confirming they had my application and providing me the case ID.
