PR application as student - declaring student loans

I am going to apply next month once I reach my five years of continuous residence.
I am going to apply as having been first a student, then self-sufficient, then a student, then a worker. I have had a non-UK EHIC card all along, so I have been very lucky in that respect.
It is perfectly okay and normal to include the student loans from Student Finance England as part of your income/funds while a student, right? I would imagine it is not seen in a negative light (i.e. "this person didn't have enough funds of their own to pay upfront for the degree"), but I would like some reassurance.
