Facing a dilemma! returning PR card

My father applied to EEA FM as a dependent parent of non-EU spouse (Me). We have sent my EU spouse's original PR card with the application with a copy. After a month or so, father has given bio metrics and received the COA letter.
However I am planning to apply for my Permanent Residency (EEA PR) and I would like to return the my spouse's original PR card for consumption of my application.
My visa expiry falls upon us very soon as well.
Will this recall of the PR card affect my father's decision negatively?
