Is a £500 solicitor worth it?

I have done my research and know quite a bit about the process and everything, but some suggested to get a solicitor. Is it worth is for £500, even though they just go over my documents (which I can do as well).

Eea family permit
I am a uk/eu student living with parents and she lives in asia.

You say uk/eu student, does that mean you hold british citizenship plus another EU citizenship?
Who is "she"? Wife, partner?
If it is a family permit I assume she will apply from the country where she currently lives?

no, i just hold an austrian passport.
yeah, she is my wife
and yes she will apply from where she currently lives.

If you are an Austrian citizen studying in the UK and genuinely married to a non-EEA citizen it should be a straightforward case. She can apply for a family permit from her home country to join you here:
https://www.gov.uk/family-permit
This is free of cost and valid from 6 months. Once in the UK she would need to apply for a residence card (£65).
It is all very well explained on the website; I am not sure a solicitor for £500 would be worth it in this case.

Yeah we are going to attempt it without a solicitor, however, if it gets refused then maybe consider one.
