I would like to get some help on following issue,

I am European national, moved to UK 3 years ago.
6 years ago I went to pakistan and got married (nikah and etc all registered in Pakistan), then when I moved to UK I applied her visa and 1 year ago she came to UK. But things didn't work between us, she is pakistan and we want to divorce. I have following questions if you guys could share some response on them please,
Is my marriage registered in UK? Considering I didn't register it in here.
Do I need to divorce in Pakistan only? If so, how ?
I need to do it according UK law? How ?

What visa exactly did she come to the UK on?

Presumably an EU family permit if you are an EU (no British) citizen.

If the marriage is recognised where it took place then it would be recognised in the UK. There is no requirement to register a foreign marriage in the UK.

You can divorce in the UK if you wish to.

And what would be the process to do that?
And would it be easier to divorce in UK or in Pakistan?
Also if I do divorce in Pakistan will it be considered in UK?

Hi,
When you got married in Pakistan did you register your marriage with union council in Pakistan?
Divorce process in Pakistan is easy, also it will be recognized in the U.K aswell. If your marriage is registered with union council then What you need to do is after divorce registers your divorce with union council and get a divorce certificate.

well i would say Pakistan as its easy, quick and cheaper and less legal complications even the spouse disagree to divorce.
if you started in UK its gonna be long process minimum 5 months and expensive experience as well as your wife is living abroad and she needs to acknowledge and sign the divorce papers and in case she refused you will be looking at much long process and costs.

no matter where you divorce its gonna be recognized the same way your marriage has been recognized on the first place when she got here in UK on family visa.
