Passport use for entry to uk after travel

Hi,
I come to UK with student visa attached to a non- EU passport 2+ years ago. Then I got my pre-settle status in May 2021 using my EU passport, presumably I can apply ILR in April 2026. Since I am not familiar with the UK immigration rules, I continue to use my non-EU passport to go back home and return to UK for a few times in the past 2 years. Will the home office count my residency as discontinued?

Someone told me that if I do not use EU passport to re-enter uk after travel, it affect my immigration status in UK and thus affect the continuous residence calculation. So you mean this saying is not true?

An immigration status is granted to an
individual, it is not necessarily attached to a passport. If that was the case, no one would be able to renew a passport and travel freely. For ILR, you are required to declare all passports you hold. There is no requirement that people with pre-settled status need to travel using an EU passport

Not responding to the question about which passport to enter the UK with, which
Zimba has already responded to.

But picking up on this point. You
may be eligible for Settled Status earlier, depending on how you acquired the EU passport.
If you acquired it by descent, from birth, you could argue that you are eligible for Settled Status earlier. See
this thread.
(NB: It is a possibility, not a certainty)
