Pre-settled status absence in the UK

Hi Guys,
This is a bit complicated, but your help is greatly appreciated. My mom received her pre-settled status in May 2019. Then she travelled back to her home country in June 2021 because her elderly mother was severely ill. She had to stay back for about 2 years to look after her. Her visa was meant to expire in May 2024. She tried to return in 2023, but then she had long COVID. She couldn't return at all. In May 2024, we believed her visa had expired; however, we received an email from the Home Office stating that her visa had been extended for a further two years, which is set to expire in June 2026. There was various information regarding the time lapse she could be outside the country. However, when I contacted the home office regarding the issue, they advised me that my mother could still enter the country, despite having been away for more than three to four years. I have booked the ticket, and I am going back home to bring her back in. My question is, if she is allowed to come back, then how can I extend her pre-settled status again? If there are questions at the border control, can we show the medical records? I was a European citizen when my mother had pre-settled status, and now I also hold a British passport.
Any help will be appreciated!
