Naturalization for Grandson on settled status with 1.5 Years Residency Period

I am seeking info for a family friend who Just got British Citizenship. His grandson is having Settled status for past one and half year (When his grandson came to UK he was given his grandfather s status i.e settlement. Now the grandson has settled status but has spent only one and half year in UK. Can his grandson apply for British Citizenship straightaway or after 5 years residency? Thanks in advance.
