Greetings

I am about to apply for my wifes PR..
though she came to Britain in 2003 but she was working cash in hand till 2005 (she is a Hungarian national and Hungary joined EU in 2004 before that she was on AU pair visa)
Anyhow she opened her bank account in 2005 july and started a job after this ..
we got the payslips from start of 2006 till date..

all p60's and p45's.

would it be wise to apply now or to wait and if wait how long?

Regards

Has she got proof of paying taxes whilst she was working cash in hand?

When did she receive NI card?

If I were you I would probably wait till start 2011.

Bank statements alone are not enough.Provide P60`s, wage slips, tenancy agreements ,council tax ,water,tv licence etc to show exercise of treaty rights.Bank statements only show your financial information but nothing else in terms paying taxes . You may read this link which may help you
