Hi All,

Does anybody know when this system will be implemented? We would rather just walk in and get the visa in a day as My husband travels a lot for work. Would be grateful for any info and updates. Thanks

Kin

I'm interested too...

If they put it on their website that it's coming it has to be soon, right? Or not? You know that it will cost 300 pounds... but I would do it too just to have it and to have my passport. I am moving in September and really hope it will be in place by then.

I keep being stunned by people falling for this blackmail by UKBA! The total cost to you will be quite a bit more than £300: add the travel cost and the cost of taking a day off, etc.

If you need to travel, just ask your passport back (by email). I did exactly that, no problem at all!

Really?

If someone is able to be established sooner with a legal right to work then they will be working and earning money sooner - a win-win situation for all concerned.

The EEA Family Permit give you a very clear right to work. And as soon as you apply for a Residence Card, as a primary family member of an EU citizen, you will receive a COA which mentions you right to work.

Don't expect same-day service if you are a beneficiary!

What is baffling is that it takes UKBA so long to process Residence Card applications. What about the whole process takes more than a few days?
