Quick Questions About EEA2 RC Translated Documents

Hi all,

I'd be grateful if anyone could quickly answer the following questions about documents that prove we were living and working in Spain before arriving in the UK (and which saw my non-EU wife issued with a FP in Madrid that has now run out). I'm British and so was/am excecising my treaty rights.

Her first RC application was rejected last week due to the lack of these papers (tax files, council registatrion, payslips etc). Now we have them, I need to know the following:

1. Do they need translating from Spanish/Catalan to English, bearing in mind even an idiot could read our old payslips and see our names and addresses on paperwork dating back three years?

2. If they need translating, do they have to be translated by an "official" translator that is recognised by the British Government? The EEA 2 application form merely says "reliable English translation".

3. Do the translations then have to be legalised/approved by another body?

4. Does anyone know a fast and not too costly Spanish translator in London, preferably in the Putney area.

Do you still have your Spanish residence documentation? (I mean the equivalent of EEA1 and EEA2). If so, would they not do?

For marriage certificates, the UK expect items to be translated into English for them by a translator. Thankfully, they don't require legalisation. I expect the same would apply to other documents.
