Hey guys,

I've not signed up with a GP for all the years I've lived here and don't have a clue how it works.

I wanted to see a doctor for my constant headaches but was wondering how I go about making an appointment. Can I just come in and sign up and see a doctor that day?

Thanks ya'll :)

Hmm I am not sure because I never needed to go to doctor during all the time I spent there but I guess you have to call and book an appointment.

:P a friend of mine always goes to her gp, I think it's cuz she's a huge hypochondriac. The doctor spends like 5 mins with her and walks her on out of there. He always ends his diagnosis with "it's not a big deal just take some paracetamol"

Walk in your local surgery with a utility bill on your name with your passport. That is it. A small form to fill in and you are done.

However, I would still stress that every surgery has its own rules. So, ask first what they required. For emergency you can always walk in to hospital.
