Global Talent Stage 1 – RAE Peer Review: 10 Weeks Waiting

Post by flyboy_2019 » Sat Aug 22, 2026 5:08 pm

Hi everyone,

I applied for Stage 1 of the Global Talent visa and chose the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAE) – Route 4: Peer Review. It has now been 10 weeks, and I still haven't received a decision or endorsement.

The only update I have is that, on July 30, RAE emailed my nominated eminent person asking whether he had provided the recommendation letter. The email stated that if he had already provided the letter, no further action was required.

The normal processing time for endorsement is stated to be 8 weeks.

I have also sent two follow-up emails to the Home Office. In response to my first email, they said that they had not yet received a response from RAE.

However, RAE's website says that they cannot provide status updates for endorsement applications and that applicants should contact the Home Office regarding the status.

I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been through the same process:

For those who applied through RAE Route 4 (Peer Review), how long did it take to receive the endorsement?
After RAE contacted your nominated eminent person, how long did it take to receive a decision?
Since the email to the eminent person apparently says that they should not reply if they have already provided the recommendation, how long does RAE normally wait for a response before proceeding?
Is there anything I can do at this stage, given that it has already been 10 weeks?

Any recent experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
