Apply for UKRI endorsement with part-time job

Dear all,

A friend of mine has an offer to work as a researcher part-time for 3 years in UKRI funded project. When I read the endorsed funder requirements from UKRI I can read:

A copy of the grant award letter(s) that support your work. The letter must confirm that:
-The grant or award is worth a minimum of £30,000.
-The grant or award covers a minimum period of 2 years.
A statement of guarantee from the Director of Human Resources or equivalent from an eligible research organisation. This letter should be on headed paper and dated and confirm in detail that:
-The employing or hosting organisation is on the list of eligible organisations available on GOV.UK.
-The applicant is essential to the execution of a grant or award from an endorsed funder and the grant and the applicant’s role meets the eligibility criteria set out in Appendix Global Talent of the Immigration Rules.


The project satisfies the conditions, the only thing that is confusing us is the fact that the offer is for part-time work.

Can he apply knowing this condition and be endorsed as nothing is mentioned regarding this.

In principle that should not be an issue.

A route that has a specific time requirement is when the applicant has been granted an individual fellowship, which is not this case.

However, I would submit this query directly to UKRI. They've been very diligent - so far - in responding emails related to GT endorsements. I also would double-check with the host institution on their willingness to provide a statement of guarantee for this part-time position - if not done yet.
