Applying for Spouse ILR Next Week- Any Advise?

Post by Rover8098 » Mon Oct 02, 2006 9:32 pm

Hi, I have an appointment at Lunar House in Croydon next week to apply for my ILR, having completed my 2 year stay as spouse of a British Citizen. I have chosen to pay the £500 fee on the understanding that my application will be processed on the same day (my application should be pretty straightforward as I have all required documents and basically have nothing to hide) as I travel quite frequently as part of my job.

Has anyone reading this post recently applied in-person at Lunar House and if so what was your experience? Is there anything I should do to make sure that my application is handled smoothly?

Also, my wife and I don't have any utility bills or a bank a/c in joint names (I seem to have taken all the responsibility for paying bills and she just pays money into my bank account!), but we have plenty of other documentary evidence (including official communication from likes of the Inland Revenue, NHS, Council Tax statements, Voter Card etc.) to prove that we live at the same address (plus several other official documentation addressed to our individual names but delivered to our home address). Will this be an issue and should we explain that in a letter with my application?

All comments/advise will be truly appreciated. Many thanks. :D
