Travelling while EEA2 visa application is under process

Post by tripping_donk » Thu Jul 26, 2012 1:50 pm

I am an Indian citizen marrried to Spanish citizen.

I have to travel urgently to India but my passport is with HO for a EEA2 application.

Can I request my passport back and travel on it?

Or do I need to withdraw my application and apply from India?

Thanks

I am not sure about ins and outs of eea regs and if they regard application as withdrawn if you ask your passport back.

But practically, how would you travel back to UK, if your family permit runs out whilst you are in India?

A new eea family permit from India would be the only option.

It's better to ask EEA related questions in the dedicated EEA section in the forum.

You can ask for the passport back. It will not affect your application.

See how at the bottom of How to apply for residence documents as the non-EEA family member of an EEA national.

As mentioned, if your EEA Family Permit is not valid any more, you will need to apply for a new one in order to travel back.
