Attested documents? how old can the bank statements be?

My wife will be applying for a spouse visa in next few days.
She will enclose all her original documents with the application i.e. passport, Tb testing results, English language testing results. etc.

Few points I would like to clarify includes:

1- As a sponsor whether there is a requirement for my passport copy to be attested?
2- I'll be providing my bank statements - If she is applying end OCT how old can the bank statements be? will 6 month statements upto August be ok?

Plz advise.

You = Sponsor
Wife = Dependant

Okay if you are asking such questions, you really need to read through the recent changes applied to the Spouse VISA route. I think you are still on the old rules bus and the new rules would be a bit of a shock. Hopefully you would have all the requirements in your favour.

You (as a sponsor):

- If employed - 6 months Bank statements
- If self-employed - 12 months Bank statements

There are many other documents required set out by the UKBA, I would say you have a read at them first.
