Employer Letter

Post by riversidecreations » Tue Nov 13, 2012 11:03 am

I'm advising on personal experience.

Please ensure that the letter written from your employer confirming annual salary states 'GROSS' annual salary.

My wife's visa was rejected due to this not being mentioned - even though it was mentioned on the contract.

All employers on all letters would normally state the amount one is earning is Gross earning.

No one puts Net earnings as they dont know what it will be.

Anyway thanks for bringing it to the attention of members here

Yes but some ECO are so ignorant that they would refuse an application on the basis that 'Gross' is not mentioned on the letter.

If you come to think of it, the ECO seems to be out of touch in his/her maths skills. Maybe the low standards of GCSE is to blame... but I was hoping the ECO would study further than GCSE level.

@batleykhan

My employer had mentioned 'Annual Income' - and it was rejected because it apparently doesn't represent the 'Gross Annual Income'

I would have accepted their refusal if my employer mentioned Net Income..

@harv... true say... extremely ignorant and refused even though 'Gross Annual' income was mentioned on my employment contract.

Yes, Very true.. Ignorance to the core and will there won't be any higher official checks if the application is going to be rejected by the ECO..
Applied: VFS Chennai - 22/08/12
Visa Refused - 14/11/2012
Refusal reason - Not provided P60 or copy of employment contract as evidence of your sponsor's gross income from their employment/income sources.

This refusal is a clear example and I will definitely take this up further. I saw another user's success story where the sponsor was contacted to request an employment contract... and another person who's application was rejected because the contract was not provided.

I cannot forgive them for their mistakes... but i'm having to be patient for the time being... i've sent a complaint letter to UKBA in UK.. but i guess that will just be on top of a pile of 100s of other complaints...
