Visa for Parents for Tier-1 WP Holder --- Urgent

Hi there,
I am working in UK since last 3 years on a Tier-1 general visa and I am planning to bring my parents to UK for a short period.
My understanding is that my parents will need to apply for a General Visitor Visa and I need to sponsor their visa.
Is there any link or thread where I can get the necessary information regarding the eligibility, documents required and process for applying the Visa?
Please let me know as I need to know this urgently.

Since they are applying as general visitors you don't have to sponsor them. Technically they could just apply as visitors to come (for holiday, watching football match, horse racing and experiencing such other Brtitsh past times) here never mentioning anything about you.

Sponsoring them simply means that they will need to show less finance on their own as your financial position will be taken into account, but conversely having you (their son/daughter) in the UK makes it harder for them to show they will go back.
