UK Spouse Visa

Post by ab112 » Sat Oct 11, 2014 1:09 pm

I have just got married and would like to apply for spouse visa for my wife (who will be applying at British embassy in Islamabad). I have a couple of questions:

1) I only have a few hundred pounds in my bank account at the moment so I was wondering if her application could be refused because of that? My annual salary is 23k (have 1 year payslips) so I meet the minimum income requirement but spent all my savings on the wedding! Thus I don't have much money is left in my account now. (Although I have 4k on my credit card available).

2) At the moment I live in a single bedroom. I am planning on applying for her visa asap. I am moving to a one bed flat in December. Do I have to have lived in the accommodation for a minimum period or can we lodge an application in January?

In short I'd like to know how quick she can apply for her visa. I know if I wait for a few months it'd be safer but if it is possible I want to apply asap but obviously I don't want a refusal either.

Thanks

1. You don't need savings if your earnings are over £18,600 a year
2. You don't have to be living in the accommodation for a minimum of time. In fact if you're able to obtain a confirmation of the new accommodation in writing you can submit this with the application. You only need to show that this will be available on her arrival.
