ILR- T1G with short contract in Guernsey

Post by Turmeric » Sat Nov 15, 2014 10:38 am

I have been on Tier 1 General for over 5 years so qualify for ILR. I would like to apply in PEO. However, during my first year I had a short-term contract with a UK company that sent me to work in their Guernsey office for 3.5 months.

SET(O) guidance says that premium service is not available where the applicant spent part of their time in Crown Dependency.

Do I understand correctly that my application will not be accepted in a PEO? Even though I spent quite a short period in Guernsey and my principal employer was based in the UK and I was paid from the UK company.

Apart from this, my application is straight forward as I have been in a permanent employment for over 4 years now (12 payslips, bank statements, etc).

I do not really fancy applying via post as I may need my passport to travel for my current job. My current T1G visa is valid for another 18 months so I would rather wait for another 10 months until Guernsey time gets outside 5 year qualifying period and apply in PEO.
