PLEASE HELP! Spouse Visa.. I need your help.

Post by gaddiexo » Thu Nov 20, 2014 11:52 am

Hello everyone!

I am a british citizen born and raised in the UK. I am married and have a baby girl that is 5 months old, my husband works in Kuwait and I am in the UK. I want him to come and settle down in the UK with me and his daughter? What the are the requirements?? I recently just heard about the government changing the income status etc, but I don't have £18,600? And its gonna be so hard to find a job when my baby is only 5 months old. I have savings of £3000 but I know that wont be enough!! Is then any exception because I have a daughter she is british also. He works in Kuwait! If he was to send me savings every month would this help my case or would I have to find a job. I feel like theres no way in hell i can find a job that gives that much money :( :( :( :( :( Please reply guys x

Only savings over £16,000 would be considered, but if you aren't working at all then you would need savings of £62,500 held in an accessible account for at least 6 months. Unfortunately there are no concessions due to having a child. Under the current rules you may have to consider moving to Kuwait if you want to be together. Alternatively Google 'Surinder Singh' and see if it would be feasible for you to move to another EU state and re-locate from there.
Would he qualify for a UK work permit?

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
