Shd i inform UKBA after surname change in Indian passport?

Post by newbie.scott » Tue Feb 24, 2015 2:15 pm

Hi Friends,

My wife is currently on spouse visa, she has UK entry clearance sticker on her passport, not Biometric.
She is planing to update her surname(after marriage) in Indian passport.
Wondering if this should be notified to UKBA immediatly, or can she wait until her next visa renewal?
Please could someone point to me to a link with more information on this please.
Does anyone know the UKBA number to call to find out more detials please? I couldnt find it on the web.

Cheers
S

Thanks Amber for your reply.

I called Croydon contact centre on 0300 123 2241
They confirmed my wife suppose to tell UKBA soon after she changed her surname, using Application for a transfer of conditions form:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... t-form-toc
Since my wife's Indian visa is on a sticker, they will invite her to provide Biometrics, subsequently issue a BRP card.

Cheers
