non-employment income - does the gross rental income count

Post by charles789 » Tue May 19, 2015 2:47 am

Hi,
I am about to apply for a settlement visa. We have to combine my wife's salary income and her income from the UK rental property. I've searched around a lot. But I can't clear up this point...
Can we count and report her rental income as it is without subtracting property management fees and her current mortgage on that property? I read you can.

Yes, we need to also show the deposits into her bank. Yes, I have to look into this tax issue although I am pretty certain her taxes on the last 6 months have not been paid. Pre 2015 I'm am pretty sure were paid.

Unfortunately, the proof of her ownership may have to be a mortgage document because her deed paperwork is on a ship to England right now. Lol. :?

Thanks so much. I am so glad to have found this site!

Cheers,
charles
