Spouse Visa UK

Hi,

I was wondering if someone can help me.

I am a UK Resident and will be getting married to an Indian Resident.
We will be getting engaged in February 2016 and also having the court marriage to kick start the visa for her to come to the UK in December 2016 when we have the religious wedding in India.

It just makes it easier for her to come back with me rather than her staying around over there.

I was wondering if someone can give me a check list of all the things i would need to help it make it easier for me?

I know there are a few posts on here but very vague.

You may be a UK resident, but what is your immigration status? Are you a British citizen, an EEA citizen, on ILR/PR or on another visa?

Assuming that you are a British citizen or on ILR/PR, have a read through this section of the gov.uk website.

You will also need to be earning £18,600 or more per annum and will need proof of that. The proof depends on various factors, mainly if you are employed or self-employed and how long you have been in the job. More information here.

I am looking to also do the court marriage 4 months ahead of our religious ceremonies and celebrations, and submit application for settlement visa,simply to get the visa sooner as if i do the application after our religious ceremonies and celebrations the wait could be upto 3 months from india,

my question is

1. is the is a common practice, does ECO see this as cheating and could they refuse my application.

i will be submitting further evidence of our religious ceremonies and celebrations which are yet to take place, documents such as, invoices from hotel where will be staying, invoice of our wedding party arrangements
