Spouse making less than 18,000

Post by billmark » Sun Jan 03, 2016 10:47 am

Hi there,

My wife who wants to sponsor me on a spouse visa. She was working part time job making less than the required 18000 minimum income. Now she is unemployed and is looking for a job and claimed benefits as a result. We also have a 1 year old baby. We got married last year and we registered the marriage officially.

I travel to the UK on visit but I cannot be with them full time. Is there a path for someone like me even on humane ground?

Thank you all

Bill

Are you currently in the UK?

You might want to have a look at the FLR(FP) route.

Also Note: The minimum annual earnings is £18,600, not £18,000.

Thank you Casa, Sushd and CR,

To answer your questions:

No, I am not in the UK.

I have savings that are far less than what I heard is needed (about 60,000), what I have is about 10,000

CR, sorry to ask but what is the FLR(FP) route?

Thanks for your assistance guys!

Bill

If you are not in the UK, FLR(FP) is not applicable.

FLR(FP) is if you are in the UK but don't meet the financial requirement for FLR(M).

Ignore the FLR(FP) route as it's now apparent that you don't qualify as you aren't resident in the UK. Savings under £16,000 won't be counted to make up any shortfall in earnings.
