What is SSC?

Is it a degree or diploma etc?

Is your partner applying as a spouse or as an unmarried partner? There are slightly different requirements for each one.

I meant if my partner comes to UK on marriage visa and then apply for spouse visa after we get married. SSC is a secoundry school qualification like GCSE's in UK. The course is taught in English in India.

No, SSC won't be accepted. She will need to do the English A1 test at one of the HO approved test centres.

Assuming you mean a FIANCE visa and not a MARRIAGE VISITOR visa.

Do you meet the £18,600 financial requirement??

She would apply for fiance visa. Then after we get married in UK, she would apply for spouse visa.

And you know she cannot work on a fiance visa during the 6 months correct?

Once married and you apply for the spouse visa (either in person or by post) she can work once granted if she wishes to.

Just another point I wanted to check, you are aware that you need to give 28 days notice to one of the HO designated Registry offices to marry and they will inform HO as she is a non-EU citizen. This could be extended to 70 days for HO to investigate or interview both of you before granting permission to marry.

Thanks for your reply. I am aware of the timings for registering marriages. Also its good i live in a town with a designated office so will not have to travel far.

You probably need to clarify this with UKNARIC. As per my understanding, SSC is not equivalent to British GCSE; HSSC is. This notion is based on the fact that I arrived to UK from Pakistan and had my Pakistani qualification evaluated. My HSSC was deemed equivalent to GCSE here.

It is irrelevant as cannot be used to meet the English language requirement. Even UK GCSE or A Levels does not qualify to meet the language requirement.
