Dependant visa applications

Post by pt100 » Wed Feb 08, 2017 3:02 pm

Hello all

I have ILR since December 2015 and am applying for dependant visas for my wife and three-month old daughter from Mumbai.

Please can I confirm with you all some very basic queries

1) My wife and daughter will attend an appointment in Mumbai for biometric enrollment. The visa and health surcharge will have been paid before the appointment. Two weeks after the appointment I will post the supporting documents to Sheffield from within the UK.

Is that correct?

2) When starting a visa application for my wife on Visa4UK I chose the options Settlement-> Settlement -> Wife. For my daughter I chose Settlement -> Settlement -> Child or dependant relative.

Are the choices correct?

3) In creating the visa applications, I used my email address to log in on Visa4UK and started my wife's and daughter's applications as 'Applying for someone else'. Then the applications themselves had their names as applicants and my name as sponsor.

Is that the correct way to go?

4) I have a fixed plus variable component to my earnings. I am guessing the Home Office will decide my application based on the fixed component. The fixed component is less than £22,400. I am therefore going to say I meet the financial criteria as a Category B applicant and 'boost' my income by showing minimum balances in mine and my wife's bank accounts over last six months. My money was in an ISA account and hers in an Indian savings account. We have both used money from the accounts, but will depend on what the minimum balances have been over the last six months

Does that sound okay?

4) I had two weeks of paid paternity leave two months ago - where the first week was paid for at the same salary rate as my salary and second week at basic ( government minimum recommended ) rate. Can I just skip over these two weeks and slide my six-month scale to two weeks before? How do I do the math of two weeks before when I get paid monthly? Will a letter from the employer help?

5) My wife and I are struggling a little over the phone calls that we are suggested to show. Most of our communication is via Whatsapp, Skype and Facetime which have no footprint, so to speak. I can archive Whatsapp chat but that feels too personal to hand out. Is there a way around? We have truckloads of photos from the wedding, other events and time together.

Sorry for the long text. I tried not to make it droll.

Kind regards,

P

Yes but you don't have to wait till the end of two weeks to send documents to Sheffield. It must be sent WITHIN 2 weeks.
2) When starting a visa application for my wife on Visa4UK I chose the options Settlement-> Settlement -> Wife. For my daughter I chose Settlement -> Settlement -> Child or dependant relative.

Correct
3) In creating the visa applications, I used my email address to log in on Visa4UK and started my wife's and daughter's applications as 'Applying for someone else'. Then the applications themselves had their names as applicants and my name as sponsor.

Is that the correct way to go?
Should be fine yes.

It must be income or savings in excess of £16,000 held for a minimum of 6 months.
Not sure I understand what you are trying to do. HO base the calculation on the most recent 6 months immediately before application. You can't choose a 6 month period in the past that suits you.

Should be ok with whatsapp, skype and facetime.
